Quickstart
Section titled “Quickstart”Get oriented in under five minutes.
1. Open the app
Section titled “1. Open the app”Go to sutraya.app.
- On the hosted site you may browse without signing in; some AI features can require an account or hit usage limits.
- Self-hosted installs may run in local mode (single implicit reader, no login) or hosted mode (multi-user). See Local vs hosted.
2. Search for a passage
Section titled “2. Search for a passage”- Click Search in the left nav, or use the search field on the home page.
- Type a word, phrase, or title (diacritics are optional —
aniccafinds anicca). - Open a result to jump into the reader, or open the work landing page for context.

3. Read with layers
Section titled “3. Read with layers”- From a work page, open Read.
- Use the resources drawer for parallels, translations, about, cite, dictionary, and Ask.
- Select text to Look up, Translate, Ask AI, Save, or Add to sheet.

4. Ask a grounded question
Section titled “4. Ask a grounded question”- Open Ask from the left rail (or start from home).
- Ask something the corpus can answer — e.g. “What does MN 10 say about mindfulness of the body?”
- Follow citations into the reader. Check the trust badge so you know how tightly the answer is grounded.
